Why when I press “download” on certain music websites it just plays QuickTime? That’s not “downloading” is it?

koto asked:

I like the a certain website that features different djs music. I would like to keep the sets on my iPod. So instead of using the streaming option I click “download.” However, when I click download it then goes to QuickTime. Is that really downloading? I was under the impression that downloading meant putting in onto my PC. I am looking to put that particular mp3 file that currently plays on QuickTime onto my iPod. It was so simple when I used a MiniDisc player. Is it impossible with an iPod?
Thanks in advance.

downloading is illegal so you dont want to try to get it from there. it is downloading, however you may not copy the music to your ipod. my friends tryed that and it didnt work. i guess you gotta just buy the songs.

If you “right click > save target as”, then it’ll save the file.
