Why do vinyl turntables cost so much?

Supply & Demand. There is very little demand for them so , very few companies make them. So they can charge what they want.
Been using a similar one for awhile, sounds great and converting to mp3 is easy, though not necessary. They are probably so expensive because they are still widely used my DJs all over the place.
