How to fix a cassette deck player?

knucklesfan15 asked:

Ok I had my stereo for about 5 years now, 3 years ago it started to acted up by making the cassette sound go all slow and sluggish. People tell me to clean the head with rubbing alcohol. So I did and it didn’t work. SO people told me if that didn’t work then its broken. So I left it alone. Yesterday I went through all my cassette collection and I wanted to listen to them but I remembered that there’s something wrong with the cassette player. Can someone tell me what’s wrong?

Yep it’s probably the drive-belt that has deteriorated and got stretched. You can try replacing it with something – if it is a decent make, you might be able to get the proper replacement.
