How do you decide what car speakers to buy?

Jennifer M asked:

I need 6.5in speakers with at least 60W each. Which brands are best? I listen mostly to rap and hip-hop and need something that will pick up the bass without distorting the actual melodies and words. I plan on replacing all four factory speakers when I replace the deck. Also, do I need different types speakers in the front and back?

brands that i like are alpine, kicker, rockford fosgate, and polk audio. depending how much you’re willing to spend, i’m sure you would be happy with something like pioneer or kenwood. nice sound for the price. as for the back speakers, you wont need a different type, but maybe a different size. make sure to check the size of the back speakers. they are sold in pairs, so you wont have to buy 4 of one kind and have extras.

i highly recomend looking into Pioneers Rev series speakers. i doubt you’ll find better hitting 6.5s.

    good luck

go with polk audio or infinity. i like polk a lil better. and go with 6.5″ components in front.

if you want clear loud music then infinity kappa. if you want a little more bass then kicker or rockford fostage.
