How do tuners work in yugioh?

factor3339 asked:

I haven’t played the game in a long time.
Why do people put tuner cards in a deck with no syncro monsters.
For example they will put a Rose, Warrior of Revenge with D.D. Survivor.
How is that a combo?
Thanks for the help everyone

Some tuners have effects in addition to being tuners. Though, I don’t know why someone would put Rose, Warrior of Revenge with D.D. Survivor without any synchros.

I guess the best way to describe Tuners is that they are like the “ritual/polymerization” of Synchro Monsters.

You’ll have to tribute one Tuner and as many non-Turner monsters so that their levels add up EXACTLY as the Synchro Monster is trying to summon. So, for example, if you wanted a Level 8 Synchro monster, you can use a Level 3 Tuner + a Level 5 monster or a Level 3 Tuner + A level 3 + a Level 2 monster. There can only be one Tuner for each Synchro summoning.

well when d fissure is on field they do fusion 2 sycnrho summon and at end of turn dd survior comes back

If you have a tuner monster on the field and other monsters on the field, you can summon a syncro monster by sacrificing the tuner monster and other monsters and finding the syncro monster you wish to summon.however, you must make sure that the tuner’s level(stars) and the other monster(s) levels add up to the exact level,or number of stars,as the syncro monster. Also, some tuners have effects that are useful for more than syncro summons.for example, you can use jinzo in combos,or just use his ability to make traps useless.Lol.

Well, some Tuners are useful for their effect, like Junk Synchron, its effect special summons a level 2 or lower monster, so, it is useful if you are planning to swarm your field.

I don’t know about Rose, Warrior of Revenge and D.D Survivor, but, synchro monsters is really useful, so, Tuners is really required to any kind of deck, tuners have their effects to help other kind of monsters, so people put them in their deck even without any synchro

I’m pretty sure that kid just doesn’t know how to make a good deck. Not being an ass, I’m serious.

Tuners are monsters that usually have an ability that makes them able to survive, but they usually have pretty low stars and attacks. Now a tuner monster and a non-tuner monster can form together to form a synchro monster. Here’s an example.

I have out on the field:
    x1 level 4 tuner
    x1 level 3 monster

Now you can send both of these cards to the graveyard to “Synchro” Summon a Synchro monster from your extra deck with “EQUIL” stars. It’s not like ritual summoning where it can be over, it has to be exact.
