There are some great books out there on how all this works. As the other person said, the answer would be way too long for Yahoo Answers. You first step should be to read the owners manual for every piece of equipment. If you don’t have them, you can get then from the website of the manufacturers.
I had to take a correspondence course to learn, and it is not possible to explain it here.
Have someone help you, it is more by ear than anything else, but you do have to be very familiar with the equipment too.
