How do I adjust my equalizer for optimal sound?

Jeff asked:

I know that you’re supposed to set the low frequencies higher so I can hear everything clearly and perfectly, but what am I supposed to set it too?

And I know this is in the car section, sorry.
Keep in mind I’m using the iTunes equalizer that goes from these Hz to kHz in this order:

32-64-125-250-500-1k-2k-4k-8k-16k

wow, it even has 16k… anyways any advice is appreciated. thanks!

If there were such a thing as “optimal sound” for all environments and all ears – there would be no such device as an equalizer.
Simply set it up to where it sounds best to you.

With everything at zero, set the 2khz up a couple notches, set the 8khz up a couple notches higher than that, set 16khz a notch higher than that. set 64 about halfway up. set 1khz up maybe a notch. set 125 and 250 down a notch or 2. See how that sounds to u.
