How can I get a burned cd to play in an old cd player?

Dakine135 asked:

My car cd player is pretty old (as far as cd drives go), and wouldn’t except a burned cd I made in iTunes. I know that alot of drives normaly won’t play written CDs, but is there a special format or program I can use to get it to play my burned CDs?

  1. Don M says:

drop the speed on it when you burn it. Low-write-speed cd’s generally play most places.

i had a 99 malibu and the cd player would not play CDR’s. the older machines just weren’t built to read them. i had to replace the radio with an alpine to make them work.

What kind of CD did you use to burn? If it was a multimedia or data CD, than try switching to one that only does audio.
