Can I use my home theater surround sound speakers (Samsung) with my turntables successfully in my apartment?

B B asked:

Or do I have to use the studio type speakers the sales rep recommended?

You can link up dj stuff to a hifi man you just connect the line output on the djmixer to the amplifier and it will work , as long as ther is a RCA connection on your amp your fine . Studio speakers are best i have them in my studio as well as for my decks theyre beter than hifi speakers and have a more flat freq responce and howether do sound a bit flat but they have to be ..

To get 5.1 sound to stereo, I’d recommend something like a SoundBlaster Live! card. You’d have to have your computer running, but the card has signal in, signal out jacks and various sound setups and “colorization” options with the included software. It takes an amplifier between the speakers and the computer’s card. The Platium series of that SoundBlaster card had a front panel with all the input jacks to slide into an empty Hard Drive bay on the computer.

yes you can, except for size restrictions of course, just use a good isolation platform.
    qaulity not qauntity
    speakers make the system
    distortion kills.
